We offer two styles of Sennheiser headsets for aviation. The HMEC26 is a closed-back, supra-aural design. The closed form means that these dynamic headphones not only attenuate 15dB of cockpit noise actively by way of the NoiseGard system, but also provide additional passive noise protection. The combination of active and passive noise compensation allows the HMEC26 to cover the complete noise spectrum, thereby reducing the noise level by approximately 26dB. The noise level is thus attenuated by approximately 65% allowing the pilot to turn the radio volume down! The stereo version of the HMEC26 offers an interface for portable music players and cell phones.
The HMEC46 is an open-back headset. It suppresses cockpit noise by up to 50% through the Noisegard active noise reduction system. Lower noise levels help to decrease cockpit stress, increase cockpit safety, and help prevent long-term hearing loss. Radio communication remains clear at reduced volumes. The stereo version of the HMEC46 also offers an interface for portable music players and cell phones.

I flew with the Sennheiser from London to Istanbul and back, and then again from London to Budapest and back this week. Enough to normally give me a head ache, but not with the new Sennheiser headset. I can't believe the difference this headset makes. Thanks ever so much.
